Consultation

Before receiving radio-frequency vein ablation in Windermere, you’ll meet with one of our trained providers at Lumina Vein & Aesthetic Institute for an in-depth consultation. During this consultation we’ll discuss your medical history and symptoms, then we will explain how the procedure works. With your goals in mind, your provider will work with you to determine which serums and or fillers to include in your microinfusion blend. This serum can include vitamins, Botox/fillers, and even platelet-rich plasma (PRP).

Treatment

The whole treatment takes 45 to 60 minutes. You’ll lie down on a hospital bed and your provider will inject the treatment area with a numbing agent. After the area is numb, they will make a small incision in order to insert the thin catheter into the vein. Radio-frequency waves heat the vein, causing it to collapse. The catheter is removed and pressure is applied to stop the bleeding. Your provider will dress the wound and advise you to wear your compression stocking following treatment.

Next Steps

Follow all directions given to you for aftercare. Keep your leg elevated and avoid vigorous exercise, but be sure to walk a few times a day. You will come in for a follow-up appointment a week after your treatment.
